MANAGED DECORATION

A decorated program fails in the middle, not at the machine.

Artwork that was never prepped for the method. A substrate chosen after the technique was locked. A restricted-substance question raised the week of production. Lizal owns all five gates, so the decoration decision and the sourcing decision are made by the same team at the same time.

01 · LZ-ART

Artwork & approvals

Your file is prepped per method before anyone quotes it, separated for screen, digitized for stitch, redrawn for puff, tested for etch. Then it goes through your brand review once, with the method named, so the approver is looking at what will actually be made.

Where it goes wrong: a logo approved as a flat vector and then digitized afterward comes back with detail the brand team never signed off on. The approval has to happen after the method translation, not before.

02 · LZ-MAT

Material selection

The substrate is chosen with the technique, not before it. Sublimation needs light polyester; etching needs a synthetic or napped face; twill needs enough body to carry a stitched-down layer. Because Lizal sources the blank, both decisions are made in the same conversation.

Where it goes wrong: a garment gets selected on price or color, and then the technique that suited the brief turns out to be impossible on it. Now you are choosing between the fabric and the finish, late.

03 · LZ-CMP

Compliance

Restricted substances, labeling, and material-content limits are cleared at material selection, not the week production starts. Inks, films, threads, foils, and trims are documented per program, with factory disclosure supplied alongside the quote.

Where it goes wrong: foil, reflective film, and plated trims are the usual late failures. Each one introduces a material a standard apparel submission does not cover, and finding that out at production means starting the gate over.

04 · LZ-PRD

Production

Decoration is managed on the floor by Lizal’s own team rather than handed to a subcontractor and hoped for. Placement, registration, and color are checked against the approved sample at the start of the run and at intervals through it, not only at the end.

Where it goes wrong: multi-stage methods are where drift hides. Patches and tackle twill are two production stages stacked, and a placement that shifted between them is invisible until the whole run is decorated.

05 · LZ-QA

Quality assurance

Physical inspection against the approved sample before anything ships: adhesion, stitch integrity, placement tolerance, hand feel, and wash performance where the program calls for it. Decorated goods are inspected as decorated goods, not as blanks that happen to have a logo.

Where it goes wrong: a blanks-level inspection passes a run where the decoration is failing, edges lifting, foil cracking, puff collapsed. The problem surfaces in the field, with your name on it.

· Anything out of tolerance held, not shipped

If Lizal warehouses your inventory, decoration can be applied to stock on hand instead of a fresh buy, no second freight leg, no second minimum.

Two methods on one piece

Flat embroidery under puff, screen print with a foil hit, a patch on a sublimated panel. Combinations are quoted as one program with one approval chain.

Reorders that actually match

Artwork, thread references, and material lists stay filed against the program, so run two looks like run one rather than close enough.
